The Sweetness of Water

In the waning days of the Civil War, brothers Prentiss and Landry—freed by the Emancipation Proclamation—seek refuge on the homestead of George Walker and his wife, Isabelle. The Walkers, wracked by the loss of their only son to the war, hire the brothers to work their farm, hoping through an unexpected friendship to stanch their grief. Tuesday Night Book Club

Every second Tuesday of the month, we’ll discuss original texts from groundbreaking authors who are reframing the course of the literary world as we know it.  

Book discussions are in-person and do not require registration. Copies of all book discussion books are available at the Adult Services Desk, starting approximately one month prior to the discussion date.
