The Orland Park Public Library is proud to present a panel discussion featuring three noteworthy Chicagoland authors. Our guests will discuss their journeys into authorhood, explore the book development process, and answer questions to motivate aspiring writers and inspire potential readers.

Copies of their most current releases will also be available for purchase.

A true Chicagoan, Tracy Clark sets each of her works deep in the dark corners of her beloved city.

In both her Cass Raines books and her ongoing Harriet Foster series, Clark examines the gruesome realities of crime in a cold world. She also spotlights the role that race and gender play in a field dominated by male forces. Fans of the series are counting down the days until Echo hits their local book scene this December.

Rebecca Garner is known for her BookFest Award winning debut Why Won't My Boobs Grow...and Other Annoyances. The story centers around Emma Bishop and the challenges of being 14 in the dizzying world of teenagedom. Smart, funny, and heartfelt, this nostalgic story warranted a sequel titled, Dear Boyfriend... and Other High School Dilemmas which will follow our main character on her next quest through all the new perils of surviving high school.

Orland Park's very own Debbie Urbanski debuted After World to rave critiques. Kirkus Review called it, "A difficult but deeply moving story on grief and love." Taking on the ever-controversial topic of AI and what happens when we entrust ourselves to the machine that runs us, Urbanski's first novel does just what the best of stories can do: it challenges, it changes, and it makes us think in ways we may never have before. A perfect tale for the times.
