Event Details

On June 12, 1962 prison guards at Alcatraz Federal Penitentiary discovered three prison inmates were missing. As police pieced together the evidence, one question remained: did the prisoners survive the one-and-a-half-mile swim to shore or perish in the waters of the San Francisco Bay? Come explore the history of Alcatraz Federal Penitentiary and the theories surrounding the infamous escape from Alcatraz.
