Nearly 100 years later, North Central College professor Dr. Shereen Ilahi, discusses key moments during the Irish War of Independence, 1919 - 1921. The conflict between the Irish Republican Army (IRA) and British forces, including the "Black and Tans,” came on the heels of World War I and was characterized by guerrilla warfare and reprisals against civilians.
